Not to mention, discovering how to make specific lifestyle changes to achieve this balance.
The concept of Ayurveda believes that everyone has a unique source of energy that comprises emotional, mental and physical characteristics. This combination is something that everyone is born with and it stays with them throughout their life.
The Three Energy Principles Of Ayurveda
According to Ayurveda, three types of energies are present in everyone: Vata, Pitta and Kapha. These relate to the biology of the body and are crucial for health and well-being.
Vata
Vata relates to the movement that is formed from Space and Air. This consists of a variety of conscious and subconscious body movements such as breathing, blinking, muscle movement and pulsation of the heart.
Creativity and flexibility are produced when Vata is balanced, whereas, fear and anxiety increase when out of balance.
Pitta
Pitta links to the metabolism of the body that comprises Fire and Water. It is in charge of vital processes such as body temperature, digestion and nutrition. When balanced, Pitta encourages understanding and intelligence. In contrast, out of balance Pitta instils jealousy, anger and hatred.
Kapha
Kapha is the energy that configures the body’s structure. This includes tendons, muscles and bones that keep all the cells together. The elements of Kapha are Earth and Water which represents their role in bodily functions. Kapha supplies water which helps to lubricate joints, moisturize skin and maintain immunity.
When balanced, Kapha is forgiveness, love and calmness. Out of balance, it promotes envy, greed and attachment.
