Hot Bamboo Massage

with Christophe Fien

A hot bamboo massage combines the benefits of Thermotherapy with massage strokes, using heated bamboo sticks of different lengths and widths to create a deep, relaxing and healing treatment. Heating the body allows the skin to absorb oil, whilst preparing the muscles for deep tissue work. A very soothing type of massage that is great for releasing tensions, easing muscle pain and relaxation.

Brazilian Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage

with Christophe Fien | Lucimara Vitor | Rachel Keane

A BMLD is a lymphatic drainage massage combining traditional lymphatic drainage methods with new lymph pumping and stimulation techniques. This treatment is with oil and uses more linear strokes than the traditional MLD method. The focus is still on stimulating the Iymph flow and its many health benefits (such as detox, immunity booster and hormonal rebalancing) but this treatment is also an amazing natural non-invasive treatment to achieve great beauty results (body sculpting, puffiness and cellulite reduction, better skin tone, smoother and radiant complexion). Finally,

A wonderful treatment for a full body rejuvenation!

Cupping

with Kat Basquil

Dry cupping is an alternative therapy with roots in traditional Chinese and Middle Eastern medicine. During the procedure, sturdy glass cups are applied to specific parts of the body to suction skin and muscle tissue. This treatment encourages circulation which promotes cell repair, creates space, and encourages tissue suppleness. Like massage, cupping can provide pain relief and soothe sore and tight muscles, which may help maintain joint health.  Cups can leave bruise-like marks on the skin for a few days, so be aware of this when booking your treatment.

Bodywork Massage

with Kat Basquill

Bodywork encompasses a collection of techniques for restoring health and balance to the entire person by working through the body. It is beneficial if you are looking to address specific issues, such as pain, posture, or low energy.

The therapist will use intuitive methods, including a mixture of deep tissue strokes, myofascial release, Thai yoga massage, joint mobilisation, and the unique stroke; the soothing 'fluid touch', which mimics the flow of energy in the body. The focus in each bodywork session is to soothe and rebalance without jarring the nervous system.

Please let the therapist know if you wish to request certain areas to focus on. Otherwise, this is a full-body massage with emphasis on the areas that need more care - whether physically tight or energetically stuck.

Seated Acupressure/Chair Massage

with Maria Cobo | Rachel Keane | Alexandra Watson

Seated acupressure massage (sometimes also called on-site chair massage) is based on the traditional Japanese acupressure technique called anma. Anma is Japanese for ‘press and rub’ and this therapy aims to stimulate the acupressure points in the head, neck, shoulders, spine and lower back.

The therapist uses their hands to stimulate the energy points which can be found all along the meridians, or energy lines, of the body. They will follow a specific sequence of movements, which are designed to improve the flow of energy throughout the body and balance and strengthen the body’s muscular, circulatory and nervous systems.

Muscle Energy Technique

with Christophe Fien | Anna Williams

Muscle Energy Techniques (MET) are an advanced type of stretch. They aim to restore normal range of motion to tight muscles.

METs are usually painless, quick and effective. You may not feel very much during the technique but afterwards, the muscle group in question should feel more relaxed and stretchy. They may help to reduce muscle pain.

Muscle Energy Techniques are used in conjunction with other techniques by massage therapists, osteopaths and other manual therapists. You wouldn’t usually have a treatment of only METs.

METs are characterised by activating a muscle against resistance. The position of the muscle and force used can vary. Often the technique will finish by stretching the muscle in question, but this isn’t always necessary.

Many people think of osteopathy as a treatment for back and muscle pain. In fact osteopathy can help you with many other issues too including digestive problems, headaches and migraines, and more.
