The Benefits of Spinning Classes
Spinning engages most of the muscles in your body, from your legs to your core. Some spinning classes also incorporate the use of hand weights, or handlebar push-ups, to get the upper body working.
Spin is also a great, low-impact cardiovascular workout, which improves blood flow, stamina and mood. Many forms of cardiovascular workouts, for example, running and circuits, are high impact, which is not ideal for those with sensitive joints. However, in spinning classes, your joints are protected from high-impact jumping movements.
Because it is such an intense workout, you will burn between 400-600 calories per spinning class, or, potentially more if you particularly push yourself.
