Pilates is a form of exercise that aims to strengthen the body in an even way, with a particular focus on improving core strength, to improve general fitness and wellbeing. Pilates exercises are done on a mat, or using specialist equipment such as the Reformer, Cadillac, or Wunda Chair. With a system of pulleys, springs, handles and straps, these apparatus can provide either resistance or support, depending on your needs.

We offer Pilates classes to suit all age, experience and ability levels, from our holistic wellness studio in Penge.

  • Pilates is well known to alleviate back pain, Pilates targets the deeper abdominal muscles and pelvic floor, these muscles work like a brace to lift and support the organs, and stabilise the back.

  • Pilates can decrease stress, the inward focus and use of breath can relax the nervous system, this can lower cortisol and decrease stress 

  • Pilates can improve flexibility and mobility, it is a practice that relies on moving between poses, with control.
