The Pancha Koshas - Exploring the Layers of Self
Saturday 7th July 2-4pm in the traditional studio
In the Upanishads it is taught that what we perceive as ‘the body’ is actually made up of five sheaths or layers (pancha kosas) - the physical layer, the energetic layer, the mental layer, the discriminative layer and the ‘blissful’ layer.
In this workshop we will dive into the pancha koshas to better understand the nature of each of these layers and how they relate to one another. We will also explore a variety of hatha yoga practices and techniques including kriya (cleansing practices), asana (postures), pranayama (breathing practices) and meditation - exploring how they affect us at the different layers of the ‘body’, and with the ultimate intention of developing a greater sense of presence and sensitivity in our yoga practice.
This workshop is open to anyone who is curious to deepen their understanding of yoga practice.
