Mandala Vinyasa Journey Through the Elements: EARTH - Hamstrings & Forward Folding

Saturday 7th October 3-5pm with Katarina Rayburn

Moving 360 degrees around our mats, focusing on lengthening our hamstrings, creating space, enabling us to fold deeper and fly higher, working with inversions and arm balances. This grounding yet invigorating practice will activate Muladhara chakra, our root source of stability.

This 2 hour session will start and end with yin yoga to compliment the subtle and physical body that we will be working on the day.

Mandala Vinyasa Journey Through the Elements: Water

Saturday 18th November 3-5pm with Jonelle Lewis

Following the Mayan calendar we will connect with the element of water and the practice will focus on the hips and the art of letting go.

We will use techniques from the tantric, shamanic and traditional chinese medicine paths to cultivate liberation in the hips.  Starting with kriya, pranayama & meditation to open the body and focus our attention to Svadisthana chakra, the sacral chakra. We will then use Qi Gong and Yin yoga to open the body up subtly and work the liver and gallbladder meridian systems. To finish we will practice a Mandala Flow moving 360 degrees around the mat and continue with hip openers, arm balances and inversions.

The intention of this workshop is to learn to flow, let go and connect to our emotions as a path to creativity and balance.

Mandala Vinyasa Journey Through The Elements – Fire

Saturday 2nd December 3-5pm with Katarina Rayburn

Based on the element specific to this particular date in the Mayan calendar, join me on a Mandala Vinyasa journey through Fire. 

Moving 360 degrees around our mats, focusing on twisting, stretching the flanks and working with inversions and arm balances; igniting the Agni (internal fire) in our body, strengthening our core and activating Manipura chakra, our source of willpower and transformation. 

This 2 hour session will start and end with yin yoga to compliment the subtle and physical body that we will be working on the day.  Open to all levels.

Mandala Vinyasa Journey Through The Elements: Air

Saturday 6th January 3-5pm with Jonelle Lewis

Following the Mayan calendar we will connect with the element of Air and the practice will focus on opening the heart and connecting to love and compassion. We will also use this practice to set intentions coming directly from our hearts as we start the New Year.

We will use techniques from the tantric, shamanic and traditional chinese medicine paths to cultivate liberation of the spine and shoulders.  Starting with kriyas, pranayama and meditation to open the body and focus our attention to Anahata chakra, the heart chakra. We will then use Qi Gong and Yin yoga to open the body up subtly and work the heart and lung meridian systems. To finish we will practice a Mandala Flow moving 360 degrees around the mat and continue with  heart and shoulder openers, backbends, arm balances and inversions.

The intention behind this workshop is to cultivate more love and compassion for ourselves and others by doing practices to strengthen the heart.
