Science Of Relaxation with Yogi Ashokananda

Science of Relaxation

Friday 28th 7:30-9:30pm in the traditional studio

Described as "instant therapy without the talking" and a process of clearing the body and mind from the inside out, Yogi Ashokananda’s signature active meditation helps release unwanted baggage in the form of your samskaras. This meditation is one of the most profound and simplest ways of aligning your higher consciousness with your physical existence. When you are in this state you can experience true relaxation, the source of your inner power and peace. The process takes place in 3 different seated positions and with some dynamic arm movements to move energy through the body, as well as primordial sounds relating to the upper and lower chakras.

The Power Of Inner & Outer Alignment with Yogi Ashokananda

The Power Of Inner & Outer Alignment

Saturday 1st December 3pm - 5pm in the traditional studio

This workshop will allow you to experience the essence and authenticity of true hatha yoga. Himalayan Hatha yoga is a strong, yet supportive form of yoga. This workshop will allow you to experience the power and importance of inner and outer alignment as we explore the connection between the mind, body and breath in asana work and pranayama. We will explore the alignment of the body, breath and mind connection in the postures, while re-energising and rejuvenating the body. Yogi strongly believes that it is not muscle that enables you to hold the posture but is the mind that creates the balance and the breath gives you the ability to hold it. Pranayama will follow the physical practice, introducing you to breath work that will align with your stronger inner self. These breathing techniques will help you to make room in your mind and remain calm and focused no matter what is happening around you.

Fascial Freedom with Katie Furness

Saturday 17th November 2:30-5:30pm in the traditional studio

Delve inside during this 3-hour workshop to explore the fascinating world of fascia

Fascia, also known as extracellular matrix is our architectural fabric that holds us together at the
same time as holding us apart. It is our largest sensory organ, weighing approximately 25Kg, fascia
resembles a wet three-dimensional spiderweb. providing a means of body wide communication.

Bio-tensegrity is the name given to a new paradigm that reveals a more complete picture of how
the body moves allowing for whole body strain distribution. Gaining insight into our architecture,
transforms our understanding of how the living body moves on and off the mat, enriching our
movement and experience. We no longer think of muscles moving bones and bones acting as
levers, theories prevalent for hundreds of years. Our bones are now considered to be suspended in
our fascia in a tension compression system, much like a balloon filled with water.

We will embody our theory through Asana practice, sensing how the ground is part of our pose,
our elasticity and stability, our openness and closedness, our sthirum, sukham, our wholeness
which is Yoga.

All notes will be provided
