We are very pleased to have teacher Carline Deal at Breeze to lead our fantastic monthly Family Yoga Playshops at Breeze. Carline’s aim is to promote health, wellbeing, calm and confidence to children and teens, whilst setting down the foundations for a vibrant, balanced, positive and healthy life ahead.

As adults, we often forget that being a kid can be stressful! There are many pressures to achieve, behave, conform and even just be accepted by others. Studies show that regular Yoga practice improves attention span, aids restful sleep and builds strength to support the skeletal system as children grow and develop physically and emotionally. Practising and developing a love of Yoga is known to instil a sense of equilibrium and contentment in all ages, and there can only be benefits in starting early!

No experience of yoga is necessary for either adult or child, simply a willingness to have fun and enjoy the journey!

Cacao Ceremony: Cacao is a powerful Plant Medicine. Cacao opens an energetic doorway to our heart centre and the deepest calling of the soul, within this facilitates the release of what no longer serves us. Allowing us the opportunity to unplug from the chaos of external stimulation, and to take a journey within to the place of inner stillness and silence. Enabling us to access emotions, conditionings, patterns of behaviour and habits that are buried deep in the unconscious. Creating an opportunity to connect to our inner wisdom and guidance, accessing clarity on the opportunities available to us. Join us to participate in Shamanic Sound Healing though drums, rattled and shakers , creating an altered state. Everyone will experience Cacao differently, but ultimately it shall leave you in a blissful state.

Yin Yoga: Julia & Junior have crafted a unique class, exploring Lila the ‘cosmic dance’ between the masculine and feminine energies.

Spend a couple of hours finding your voice with Sue’s Mantra and Mudra workshop. There are many fascinating aspects to yoga and mudra’s and mantra’s are no exception. Students are often stunned to discover the power of mudra and their ability to increase and direct energy. This coupled with the healing vibrations of mantra makes for a powerful dynamic shift in the voice and physiology.

What you’ll learn

• Understand how Mudras work, why and when we might use them

Yin & Massage workshop with Hassan Hassan & Meriel Angharad.

Sunday 22nd September 14.00-16.30pm in the Traditional Studio. 

A two-hour and half workshop that is a combination of Yin Yoga (where positions are held for long periods of time to work deeply into the muscles) and massage therapy. The way it works is that the massage therapist will work on each person in the workshop while they are in a yoga pose which allows them to get deeper into the muscle group they are working on in the pose. This combination releases the energy stored deep within the connective tissues of the spine, hips and shoulders and creates space for deeper breath and a quieter mind.

The workshop will be taught by Meriel & Hassan, both Vinyasa and Yin yoga teachers as well as massage therapists. Beginning with cleansing breath exercises to ground and open up followed a 2. 5 hour yin class, while 2 pairs of healing hands will wander the room and massage you during the postures.

 Space is limited to 25 spots. Scented oil will be used at the end of class if you choose.

When we move our body and connect with our breath we start to feel what’s truly here in us, around us and through us. We begin to receive the wisdom of the body and become whole again - we become who we are with whatever we bring. We will use the 5 Rhythms Wave - using the rhythms of flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness to find new ways of being ourselves, with another and in a group. Hope you can join us and come dance!

Ajay Rajani is an accredited teacher of the 5 Rhythms. His spiritual journey began over a decade ago with a strong practice of seated meditation and this continues to inform his 5 Rhythms teaching where he inspires embodying the moment and allowing your body to be your greatest teacher.

Inclusion is key to yoga. If you want to learn how to create a class that is accessible, inclusive,supportive and welcoming to all students, regardless of age and ability,

join senior teacher Nina for a teacher's workshop, created to help any teacher get a greater understanding of how to adapt a yoga practice to all students. In this workshop you will learn to use props, chairs, the wall, to make yoga inclusive and accessible.to anyone. Learn to to address the needs of each individual and make everyone welcome in your class. We will be working in group and individual settings, thinking outside the box when it comes to traditional yoga poses, learn from each other's experiences, adapting standing, seated, inverted and restorative poses. Learn to work with your students, regardless of ability or disability. We will also talk about inclusive language and certain conditions and disablities you may come across in class.

Vanessa and Gerrard will guide you through a life affirming vinyasa practice informed by their movement and contact work. The workshop will also include a mindful approach to postures and moving holistically. Attention will be paid to the breathe, alignment and moving from the core. The workshop will conclude with nutritional advice. 

Vanessa Abreu and Gerrard Martin are professional dancers. Gerrard is a trained yoga teacher, and Vanessa has a passionate interest in nutrition and well-being.

Fundamentals of Hand Balancing 

Hand balances can bring a fun, playful quality to our yoga practice. They present an opportunity for curious exploration of the ways in which our bodies adapt to unfamiliar demands and they allow us to challenge and gently probe preconceived ideas about our boundaries and limitations.

But it’s true that they can also feel somewhat daunting. After all, most of us aren’t used to standing on our hands! However, once the core principles of hand balancing are understood, these poses can start to feel much more accessible.

In this workshop we’ll break down the fundamental techniques and basics of hand balancing; from foundation postures such as plank and side plank (vasisthasana), to more challenging poses such as bakasana (commonly referred to as crow pose), side crow and eka pada galavasana (‘flying pigeon’).

Options will be provided for all levels of experience. So whether you’re looking to achieve ‘lift off’ for the first time, or whether you want to refine your existing technique to fully master these postures, you’ll leave the workshop with the knowledge and understanding to take your hand balancing practice to the next level

This workshop will allow you to experience the essence and authenticity of true hatha yoga. Himalayan Hatha yoga is a strong, yet supportive form of yoga. This workshop will allow you to experience the power and importance of inner and outer alignment as we explore the connection of the mind, body and breath in asana work and pranayama. We will explore the alignment of the body, breath and mind connection in the postures, while re-energising and rejuvenating the body. Yogi strongly believes that it is not muscle that enables you to hold the posture, but is the mind that creates the balance and the breath gives you the ability to hold it. Pranayama will follow the physical practice, introducing you to breath work that will align with your stronger inner self. These breathing techniques will help you to make room in your mind and remain calm and focused no matter what is happening around you.
