Yin & Massage Workshop with Hassan Hassan & Meriel Angharad.

Yin & Massage workshop with Hassan Hassan & Meriel Angharad.

Saturday 29th June 14.00-16.30pm in the Traditional Studio.

A two-hour and half workshop that is a combination of Yin Yoga (where positions are held for long periods of time to work deeply into the muscles) and massage therapy. The way it works is that the massage therapist will work on each person in the workshop while they are in a yoga pose which allows them to get deeper into the muscle group they are working on in the pose. This combination releases the energy stored deep within the connective tissues of the spine, hips and shoulders and creates space for deeper breath and a quieter mind.

The workshop will be taught by Meriel & Hassan, both Vinyasa and Yin yoga teachers as well as massage therapists. Beginning with cleansing breath exercises to ground and open up followed a 2-hour yin class, while 2 pairs of healing hands will wander the room and massage you during the postures.

Space is limited to 25 spots. Scented oil will be used at the end of class if you choose.

Rocket Yoga Workshop with Jamie Blowers

Join Senior Yoga Teacher & Trainer Jamie Blowers for an inspirational Rocket yoga workshop.
Including:
1. Handstands and Arm Balances.
Bakasana, Parsva Bakasana, Koundinasana, Eka Pada Bakasana Astavakrasana, Mayurasana and Pincha Mayurasana.
2. Introduction to the authentic principles which guided Larry Shultz in creating the Rocket.
3. Ashtanga, Rocket and the contemporary practitioner.
4. Principles of flight to handstand. Mind over matter.
5. Arm balances and their modifications.
6. Effectively transitioning the standing sequence.

Jamie is a Rocket Yoga Teacher Trainer and was trained by Larry Shultz, the creator of the Rocket in San Francisco. Jamie brings a wealth of knowledge from his lifetime career in movement, so whether you are someone who loves yoga and are looking to progress, particularly if you want to invest in your practice; or if you are a yoga teacher looking to add to your understanding of alignment in arm balances or just to move your practice off a plateau, this workshop is a must!

Full of Arm balances and handstand practice, back bending and spinal twisting, this uplifting sequence of postures has gained global recognition as a feel-good experience that opens the body and clears the mind. The Rocket breaks through common areas of tension and energy blockage, combating tendencies towards stagnancy and resistance in the body. Frequent handstands and arm balances keep the energy levels high and encourage students to connect to their inner power and change their worldview. The playful and upbeat Rocket routine is the perfect counter to the soothing forward bending of the Vinyasa flow and Primary Series. The Rocket routine creates an energy peak in the cyclic rhythms of the practice sequences. Accessible to all levels, the Rocket routines can give modifications to beginners and variations that challenge even the advanced asana students allowing the benefits to be felt by all. Rocket yoga is considered an all-inclusive practice.

Jamie’s Teaching
Jamie’s Rocket teaching has playful creativity, fluidly negotiating around the classic Rocket signature structure. Inversions are a signature that commonly represents the Rocket practice and Jamie’s teaching will support and encourage your evolution towards the practice of these, exciting and uplifting inversions, whether you are lifting one foot off the floor for the first time or refining an established practice. As a master teacher, Jamie’s eye for technique is second to none and he is very generous offering hands-on and individuated corrections tailored to your personal practice. If you are uncomfortable with hands-on adjustments Jamie is perhaps not the best teacher for you.

Himalayan Hatha Yoga & Pranayama – Power of Inner & Outer Alignment with Yogi Ashokananda

Himalayan Hatha Yoga & Pranayama – Power of Inner & Outer Alignment with Yogi Ashokananda

Friday 4th October 19.00-21.00pm in the Traditional Studio.

This workshop will allow you to experience the essence and authenticity of true hatha yoga. Himalayan Hatha yoga is a strong, yet supportive form of yoga. This workshop will allow you to experience the power and importance of inner and outer alignment as we explore the connection of the mind, body and breath in asana work and pranayama. We will explore the alignment of the body, breath and mind connection in the postures, while re-energising and rejuvenating the body. Yogi strongly believes that it is not muscle that enables you to hold the posture, but is the mind that creates the balance and the breath gives you the ability to hold it. Pranayama will follow the physical practice, introducing you to breath work that will align with your stronger inner self. These breathing techniques will help you to make room in your mind and remain calm and focused no matter what is happening around you.

Prana Kriya Yoga & Kriya Meditation with Yogi Ashokananda

Prana Kriya Yoga and Kriya Meditation with Yogi Ashokananda

Sunday 28th April 14.00-16.00pm in the Traditional Studio.

This workshop will allow you to experience the essence and authenticity of true Kriya Yoga
with Yogi Ashokananda’s signature style of Prana Kriya Yoga.
Regardless of your physical strength and ability, Yogi will expertly guide you so that you can
experience the layer of your highest consciousness by focusing on the fundamental principles
of the practice. In this energetic and empowering workshop, we will go into fascinating detail
and experience of Prana Kriya Yoga, covering kumbhakas (breath retention), mudras, kriyas
and the five pranas with a focus on the practice of strengthening heart energy. This Workshop is suitable for all.

Prana Kriya Yoga harmonises and unites the flow of the physical movement in our bodies (kriya) with its energetic power helping you become aware of your creative potential. This form of yoga is one of the most effective means by which to achieve your goals and aspirations, material, emotional and spiritual, and bring your actions in line with your mental and emotional state. Prana Kriya Yoga has also long been highly regarded among many great masters and yogis to hold the key to slowing down the ageing process. It achieves this by recharging the blood with oxygen and decarbonising it, thus rejuvenating the brain and spinal centre and preventing the decay of tissues in the body. It awakens the hidden energy (kundalini) within you allowing you to transform and free yourself from limiting beliefs and old behavioural patterns that hold you back. We will end the workshop with a powerful kriya meditation. Yogi Ashokananda’s Kriya meditation holds the same transformative qualities as Prana Kriya Yoga. As a meditation, it draws the energy inwards and an ecstatic and all peaceful state of being can be experienced. It moves the prana (life force) through the body into your higher consciousness by using the breath, gentle concentration of the mind and subtle awareness of the process. In kriya meditation you offer up your energy to your higher self. This meditation is one of the best remedies for improving concentration and memory as it fine tunes the mind. It also affects your nervous system, which feeds your organs and renews you from the inside out. It is also highly effective for erasing depression, anxiety and stress giving you greater self awareness and self respect. This Workshop is suitable for all levels.

Rest in Sound with Adrianna Zaccardi & Junior Valentine

Rest in Sound with Adrianna Zaccardi & Junior Valentine

Saturday 27th April 14:00-16: 00 pm in the Traditional studio

Join Adrianna,  Restorative Yoga teacher, and Gong Master Junior Valentine for this healing workshop - Rest in Sound.

With a combination of restorative yoga poses and sound healing through the use of gongs, drum, rain sticks, bowls, chimes and much more, Adrianna and Junior will create a safe, comfortable and held space for you to ultimately be with your truest state.

The various instruments are used as soothing and relaxing vibrational tools that create a sound massage for the mind, body and soul. A Sound Bath literally ‘washes’ the recipient with a tsunami of sound and vibrations permitting a profound relaxation to take place. The healing effects of sound vibrations on the human body are scientifically proven, but nonetheless mysterious.

Restorative Yoga is a therapeutic practice that involves the use of props and the support of the earth to allow the nervous system to move into a state of rest and digest, bringing calm and relaxation to the mind and body.
