About Matt

Matt’s yoga journey began when an awakening of sorts convinced him to box up his Australian life and set off with his backpack, with no real idea of where he would end up, or what he was searching for. What he eventually found (or what found him) was a vibrant yoga scene in London and Canada, where he trained with his main teachers Claire Missingham, Suzanne Slocum-Gori, Ryan Leier, Srivatsa Ramaswami, Nico Luce, Noah Maze, and Dr Genieve Burley.

Matt now shares his yoga teaching base between London and Adelaide, and teaches retreats and workshops as he travels. His schedule can be found at www.matt.yoga.

Matt also has a background in health and fitness, with a degree in Human Movement, he is a qualified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.  He was a personal trainer for many years, including being the Head of Fitness for premier health clubs across London, Sydney and Adelaide. All this experience contribute to and influence his teaching style today.

Guest Class: 'Air Mandala Flow' with Katarina Rayburn

Guest Class with Katarina Rayburn

Friday 22nd September 7.30-9pm in the traditional studio

Air Mandala Flow –a Mandala Vinyasa Journey Through the Element of Air

Join Katarina for this inspirational class in which we will move 360degrees around our mats, breathing and flowing through poses and inversions that open our shoulders, hip flexors and strengthen our quads.  This will enable us to go deeper and more safely into backbends and heart openers; activating Anahata chakra, our heart centre.

This 90 minute class is a strong and dynamic practice which will start and end with yin yoga to complement the subtle and physical body that we will be working on the day. Open to all levels.

About Katarina

Having initially graduated with a Physics degree Katarina then went on to train as an actress in London.  At this time Katarina realised how invaluable yoga was in keeping her physically and mentally “on point”. Discovering a strong and yang style of yoga in London was what got her hooked!  Whilst travelling through India, Katarina went to the Andaman Islands and explored the lighter practice of Sivananda yoga. On her return, yoga started to become a much more important part of her life and inspired her to return to India a year later to complete her 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in Ashtanga Vinyasa and Rocket with The Yoga People, who themselves were taught by Larry Schultz the pioneer of Rocket yoga and student of Pattabhi Jois.

Katarina then began teaching yoga full time and then went on to complete her 100hr advanced Rocket teacher training in Thailand.  In 2016 Katarina completed 100hrs of Mandala Vinyasa and Shamanism in India and 55hrs of Yin and Anatomy in Gran Canaria, again with The Yoga People, who themselves trained in Yin under Paul Grilley.  This year Katarina completed her final 45hrs to bring her up to 500 hours of teacher training with her teachers Jamie and Dulce, The Yoga People.

Katarina's public teaching schedule consists of a mixture of Rocket yoga and the Mandala Vinyasa model in her vinyasa classes, working closely with chakra and elemental theories.

Katarina is a 500hr, Yoga Alliance approved, Registered Yoga Teacher.
