Yolie
I first came to practice Bikram Yoga in Brighton with Naomi Clark in 2005, and fell in love with this vigorous style at my first (somewhat intense!) encounter with the hot room! Yet although loved to practice, I never considered the possibility of becoming a teacher – much too scary! That changed when I attended a workshop with Ted Grand, the co-founder of Moksha Yoga, in 2007. I was so inspired by his approach to yoga, and felt so happy in my body practicing the sequence he had created, that I subsequently left England straight after completing my degree in 2008, to train as a Moksha Yoga teacher in Toronto. I returned a few months later excited and eager to share the practice with others. Although I teach Moksha Yoga exclusively, I have also been lucky enough to study other styles with Seane Corn, Max Strom, Baron Baptiste and Bryan Kest, all of whom have influenced my yoga practice, and my voice as a teacher. I am deeply grateful to have discovered yoga, and for the positive effects it has had on my life. It is my hope that in sharing yoga with others I can introduce them to a powerful and positive practice – one that has potential to create real health and happiness. Both physically and mentally.
