Shi Xing Tam

Shi Xing Tam started learning martial arts at the age of 12. He spent 10 years learning Karate and Kung Fu. He then started training Tai Chi and Chi Gong after suffering a serious injury (Torn ligament in the neck) from a Karate class. The Qi Gong and Tai Chi training not only helped heal him, but he also found the teachings contained a lot more depth than the other martial arts he had been learning. Shi Xing Tam has been learning and practicing Qi Gong and Tai Chi for 12 years. He has studied under world famous masters. One of his teachers (Sifu Wong Kiew Kit) has won the Qi Gong master of the year award. Shi Xing Tam has been accepted as a Shaolin laymonk and has been taught the indoor secrets of Qi Gong and Tai Chi by his teacher/sifu Shi DeLon.

These include energy transmission and Shaolin energy healing.

Shi Xing Tam has also studied Chen Tai Chi with grandmaster sifu Chen Zheng Lei, the cousin of the head of the Chen family, Chen Xiao Wang. Both Chen Zheng Lei and Chen Xiao Wang are recognised by the Chinese government as in the top ten martial artists in the world and accorded national treasure status. The Chen family originated Chen Tai Chi and it has been taught in an unbroken line in their family since ancient times. Shi Xing Tam has also travelled to China and studied Tai Chi and Qi Gong in Wudang Mountain under sifu Yuan Xiu Gang.

Shi Xing Tam has studied acupuncture and massage at the International College of Oriental Medicine (ICOM) in East Grinstead for 5 years, where he has been since employed treating patients once per week. ICOM is the only acupuncture college in the country that teaches the whole theory of acupuncture, including Stems and Branches (Chinese Astrology) as well as all the other acupuncture theories. It also includes a solid grounding in Western medicine such as Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology.

His classes at Breeze Yoga are aimed at total beginners. They include breath work, light stretching, Qi Gong for healing and the foundations of tai chi, including methods for improving posture and balance.

Shi Xing Tam currently resides on a houseboat in Egham.
