Jayne

Jayne was introduced to weekly Yoga classes, aged 12, after a riding accident.

By 15 she had her own regular practice. In 1983 she started a weekly hatha class, which soon became 5 a week, with Margaret Kelly, who is still a good friend and major inspiration in Jaynes life. She encouraged her to read around the subject of movement and was greatly inspired by the Alexander technique, Rolfing and Feldenkrais method for the subtle aspects of mind and movement. Plus the classic Autobiography of a Yogi.

She also worked with Godfrey Devereux with his Iyengar roots and developing Ashtanga method, with Swami Pragyamurti in the Satyananda tradition, who introduced Yoga Nidra to Jayne, plus various other sojourns in the many yoga traditions at home and abroad including, Kundalini, Sivananda and Bikram. In 1997 Lynne Conolly helped her develop a regular meditation practice, which led her to the Himalyan Institue, the Ishaya tradition and currently the Tibetan styleof Shamata. She is now moving to the next level of Lojong and Vipassana later this year.

Jayne trained with Ruth White and has been teaching since 1998. She worked as a fellow teacher on Ruths weekends from 1999-2005. This lead to teaching regular teacher training classes and was one of Ruths assessors from 2000-2005.

Jayne has been practising Hot Yoga regularly since 2004, and has found it has developed her breathing and strength. She is very excited to be teaching this style now. Her broad range of experience, interest and enthusiasm is apparent in her teaching.
