The Technique
The Vedic Meditation Technique* is a simple, natural, effortless procedure practiced for 20 minutes in the morning and evening, while sitting comfortably with the eyes closed.
The activity of the mind settles down in a natural and spontaneous way. One experiences the mind becoming increasingly more silent and orderly. This process continues until the mind settles, moves beyond thinking and then experiences complete mental stillness.
At the same time the body gains a deep state of rest, scientifically proven to be up to 5 times deeper than sleep. This deep rest gained on a daily basis rejuvenates the entire system and dissolves accumulated stress, tension and fatigue.
Following the practice you feel refreshed mentally and physically - the mind is calmer and more alert, thinking is clearer and energy levels increase. People find they can achieve more with less effort, and that work, recreation and relationships are more rewarding.
The technique of Vedic Meditation is widely practiced in the West. The benefits of this technique on all areas of life have been validated by more than 600 scientific research studies, conducted during the past 30 years, at over 200 research institutes and universities in 30 countries.Research into the effects of Vedic Meditation demonstrate its ability to create powerful, measurable changes in the physiology and has been found to be more effective than other meditation and relaxation techniques in promoting mental and physical well-being.
*The Veda is the body of knowledge from ancient India that is the source of Yoga, Meditation, and Ayurvedic medicine, and is the basis of Indian Philosophy.

"I wanted to learn to meditateto try and deal with depression and anxiety problems I had had for a long time. I was slightly sceptical at first as I had never tried anything like it before, but Marie-Emma was a wonderful teacher and although it requires dedication at first, now it is part of my daily routine.Together with psychoanalysis and lifestyle changesit has been a hugely powerful tool in silencing the negative narrative of thoughts and anxieties that had plagued me and has really helped to calm my mind and build my self confidence back up."

“When my girlfriend suggested learning to meditate I jumped at the chance. It’s become a part of our day when we sit down and share time together and get centred. It has definitely brought us closer, as we share the amazing benefits of Vedic Meditation, which therefore enhances our relationship. "

" In 2004 I was diagnosed with a breast cancer. This traumatic experience has completely changed my outlook on life. Two years of treatment together with a healthy lifestyle and daily meditation practise helped my recovery. I learned to meditate after my surgery, which helped me to get back a sense of balance and get rid of stress. In many cases, stress, is believed, to be a direct reason for cancer. At this point, doctors are very pleased with a state of my recovery. "
Nora, Managing Director
"After my first day of meditating two people (who didn't know that I had started meditating) commented on how relaxed I looked. Almost immediately I was more efficient and focussed - even my cooking improved! Over time I found that I had greater capacity to deal with the stresses and strains of everyday life. My husband (who is usually very sceptical) is in awe of the difference that meditation has made to me and actively encourages me to continue with it."
Reena, Consultant
“My quality of life and that of my family has definitely improved since the first session of the course. I have the energy to keep calm, stand back and not let life's pressures take me over any more. It is amazing that a relatively simple physical process can bring so much benefit - I can't believe that it is not more widely used.”
Catherine, Script Writer
“I have been meditating for almost a year now having been taught the Vedic technique by Marie Emma Clough. I have found it has given me more energy at work and at play and also helped me through a difficult period of my life. I want to learn more about the technique and indeed have booked an advanced course for later this year, and look forward to being a meditator the rest of my life! I thoroughly recommend this course for anyone living in the modern fast paced society we live in today, to help them deal with the everyday stresses and strains we all experience.”
