Massage flushes the tissue of lactic acid, uric acid, and other metabolic waste, helping the body re-establish its natural equilibrium. It has an immediate Physiological effect on the local area of the body being worked on and it also affects the whole body through stimulation and relaxation of the muscles and nerves. Deep tissue massage
Deep Tissue is a type of massage therapy that helps focus on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as necks, shoulders, lower back, glutes and legs; it will also help with joint mobility, and can aid recovery from accidents and surgery. The strokes are slow and the pressure is deep and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.
How deep tissue massage works
When there is chronic muscle tension or injury, there are usually adhesions which are bands of rigid painful tissue in muscles tendons and ligaments. Adhesions can block circulation and cause pain, limit movement and cause inflammation
Deep tissue massage is recommended if you suffer from:

Preparation requirements
You are advised not to consume alcohol or eat heavily for several hours before your treatment, and please drink plenty of water as this will help detoxification.
Please arrive a few minutes early to complete any necessary forms and to relax and rest before your massage begins.
Massage is not recommended if you have any of the following:
- Infectious skin disease or rash
- Immediately after surgery
- Immediately after chemotherapy or radiation unless recommended from your doctor
- People with osteoporosis should consult with their doctor before booking a massage
- Prone to blood clots. There is a risk of clots being dislodged. If you have heart diseases please check with your doctor before having a massage.
