Top Tips For Beginners

You do not need to be a member of Breeze to enjoy our classes.  However it is not possible to pre-book classes on a “drop in” basis.  Our classes are extremely popular and there are times when we operate a waiting list.  If you are attending a class on a “drop in” basis, we suggest you arrive no less than 15 minutes prior to the class start time.

Most of our classes are suitable for both newcomers and experienced students. When looking at our timetable, please note that any class with a blue smiley face next to it, will be suitable for you if you have never attended one of our classes before (with the exception of illness and/or injuries, in which case please ask our team what we recommend for you).

Please note that the Hot Studio is a quiet studio.  We want our students and participants to take time out of daily life to really focus on themselves and enjoy the experience.  Therefore we respectfully request that there is no chatter once inside the yoga room, in particular prior to the class starting.

You will need to complete a medical form before you can practice with us for the first time – you can download the medical form and bring it with you to save you time on your first visit.

What do I need to know for my first time in the hot room?

  • The room is heated to 40 to 42 degrees Celsius so be prepared to sweat.
  • Be hydrated! Have at least 2.5 litres of water in the 24 hours prior to your first class.
  • The class is designed for all levels of fitness but if you have special medical conditions please consult your doctor first.
  • Please do not wear strong perfume and deodorants – some people may be allergic.

What should I wear in the hot room?

Wear light clothing! Shorts, running vests and leggings are great. Sweatpants and baggy clothes are not recommended.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • A large towel or two (you can hire one from reception if you wish).  One to place on your mat and one to mop your brow!
  • Water
  • Open mind

How will I feel after class?

Shower, put on dry clothes, drink plenty of water, eat whatever you fancy and then listen to your body – you may feel energised, completely and deliciously relaxed or even a little emotional! All reactions are normal.

The next day you will feel that your muscles have been working for you – the best thing to do is come back the next day or within 48 hours and allow the magic to work.

Rules & Etiquette

  • Please arrive in plenty of time for class – we do not allow participants to enter the studio once the class has started.
  • The studios are a mobile free zone – enjoy your peace!
  • Clean bare feet only in the yoga studios – put your shoes in the cubbies outside the studio or in our lockers.
  • Quiet please in the studio before and during class and 15 minutes after final savasana – use this time to acclimatize before class and chill out after!
  • Please avoid wearing strong perfume in the studio – some people have allergies.
  • Try to stay in the room for the duration of the class as coming and going is distracting for others.  Especially in hot classes please stay in the room in order that you do not “cool down and heat up” quickly.
  • Please divulge any medical conditions on your medical form and inform your teacher of any concerns at the start of class.
  • Please help us to keep the studio and changing areas neat between classes – put your water bottle in the recycling bin and used towels in the towel bales.
  • Lost property will be kept for one month only.
  • Enjoy your time with us!

If you are unsure about anything whatsoever, just ask us – that’s why we are here!
